With the warm fall we’re having this year, it is a bit hard to feel like it’s time to start thinking about the holidays. But, it’s the end of October and the holiday season is right around the corner. Every year Austin area nonprofits count on volunteers and donors to help provide holiday support for their clients. Many organizations offer a “adopt a family” or “adopt a client” model where individual or group donors can purchase gifts and necessities from a wishlist.
I have coordinated holiday giving efforts for my immediate friend group for the past few years, supporting organization including Lifeworks, Central Texas Food Bank, and SAFE Alliance. It might feel a little early, but the end of October and early November are the time to sign up for holiday giving opportunities in order to be matched with a client wishlist. I have compiled a list of some of the many holiday help opportunities in the Austin area. How are you planning to support your community this holiday season?
