2023 was a big year for us! We moved back into our dream playhouse in November after over a year of the construction phase of the remodel. We can't wait to share it with you.
Some house highlights include: our big, bold, and beautiful front porch featuring a gas fireplace that you can run from the outside or in our living room; a real grown up bedroom and bathroom suite complete with a huge Japanese style bathtub and giant crane mural; and an entire second house (a separate 1 bedroom/1.5 bath, 650 square foot back house… won’t you be our neighbor/tenant?).
Our new/old home. 1713 E. 38th Street, Austin TX 78722 if you want to stop by or need to update your contact info.
Outside of spending way too many hours looking at different ceiling fans and door knobs on the internet, we spent the year doing a bunch of our favorite things. We availed ourselves of the amenities in our apartment, hosting a handful of pool parties, game nights, and gatherings. Emily turned 40 and had her most prolific quilting year to date, thanks to a fancy hand-me-down sewing machine from her aunt. Bug took a bunch of photos this year, and had a blast capturing the annular eclipse. He met his goal of reading 40 books and especially enjoyed Babel by R.F. Kuang.
Our plans for 2024 include: not moving house again, herding cats at Disneyland in February, hopefully some additional travel, and more baths and sitting by the fire. We plan to do more volunteering at Inside Books Project on Sunday evenings, so let us know if you ever want to join.
This year’s recipe is the most hyped yet: Emily’s Infamous 3 Pepper Pimento Cheese. Treat yourself to a jar… or two.
We love you and can’t wait to have you over for a playdate.

Our incredible photo shoot was done by the incomparable Erica Nix.
We didn’t get it together to send a card in 2022. In 2021 we sent out our safari card, art by Sammy Ness. And in 2020, we were all on Zoom with the help of Zoe Graham.
